NJERU: Moses Logono stepped up when it mattered most, delivering a crucial equalizer just eight minutes from time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Busoga United against SC Villa in a thrilling showdown in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League clash on Thursday, April 4. The electrifying encounter unfolded at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

SC Villa, driven by the desire to break their 20-year league title drought, seized the initiative with a goal from Charles Lwanga after 20 minutes of intense action.

Despite the setback, SC Villa’s resolve remained unyielding as they pressed on. However, their aspirations were thwarted by Logono’s late heroics, ensuring Busoga United clinched a valuable point.

With this hard-fought draw, SC Villa ascended to the second spot in the standings, amassing 40 points from 21 hard-fought encounters. Nevertheless, the Jogoos missed a golden opportunity to narrow the gap on league leaders Kitara FC, who currently dominate the 16-team table with 44 points from 22 matches.

The stage is now set for an epic showdown as SC Villa prepares to face defending champions Vipers SC in their upcoming fixture scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at the iconic Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. Anticipation is high as football fans eagerly await another exhilarating spectacle in the quest for supremacy in Ugandan football.
