Uganda Premier League table leaders, KCCA FC, kick-start their title hunt with a second round opener against Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium on Thursday, February 9.

KCCA, who lead the table with 29 points from 14 games, are hoping to regain the league title they last won in 2019.

The Lugogo-based side, however, faces an uphill task against fourth-placed Wakiso Giants in Thursday’s match.

In the first round fixture, KCCA defeated Wakiso Giants 3-2 last October at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Speaking on Wednesday (February 8), KCCA coach Morley Byekwaso warned his players against complacency.

“Wakiso Giants were the most impressive team in the first round. They turned their home ground into a slaughter house so we have to go out there and fight for our lives,” Byekwaso said during a pre-match media conference.

Wakiso Giants finished the first round in fourth place with 25 points from 14 games.
