Vipers SC have sacked eight players from their 2022-23 season double-winning squad.

In a statement issued Wednesday, June 14 on the club website, Vipers confirmed Disan Galiwango, Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye, Ibrahim Orit, Bashir Asiku, Musa Ssali, Olivier Osomba, Garcia Mpongo and Serge Robert Mwenge have been axed.

“All the eight [players] formed a huge part of our first team squad of their Vipers careers, and we would like to wish them the very best for the future,” the statement reads in part.

Vipers recently won their first-ever StarTimes Uganda Premier League title and Stanbic Uganda Cup double under coach Alex Isabirye.

The Kitende-based side is now re-organizing to start preparations for the new season in which they will attempt to defend both trophies and represent the country in the CAF Champions League as well.

Beyond Kyankwanzi Lies Uganda’s Next Public Service Revolution

    By Kalikumutima DeoJune 19, 20260
