KCCA FC have appointed Jackson Magera Kaddu as their first-team.

Magera, who led SC Villa to third-place finish in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season, was confirmed on Thursday, June 22.

According to a statement issued on the club website, Magera was given a three-year contract, which starts on July 1.

He will work under Sergio Traguil, the Portuguese who was appointed KCCA head coach recently.

Previously, Magera worked as assistant to former head coach Mike Mutebi between 2018 and 2020.

He left KCCA to join SC Villa in 2021. At Villa, Magera started as assistant coach to Greek Petros Koukouras who was sacked in 2022 and the former elevated to his role.

Meanwhile, Traguil appointed compatriot Luis Manuel Correira as his assistant and named Cuban Eduardo Lazaro Raman Leiva as the strength and conditioning coach.

Correira and Leiva were part of Traguil’s backroom staff at Township Rollers FC in Botswana earlier this year.

Traguil and his team will replaced Jackson Mayanja and his technical staff who were appointed in interim capacity when former coach Morley Byekwaso resigned in April this year. Mayanja led KCCA to the runners-up spot in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Beyond Kyankwanzi Lies Uganda’s Next Public Service Revolution

    By Kalikumutima DeoJune 19, 20260

Uganda has spent decades developing policies and reform strategies, but citizens judge government differently—by whether services are delivered efficiently and fairly. A new commentary argues that the country’s next phase of transformation must focus on faster service delivery, accountability, meritocracy and a citizen-first culture if public trust and economic growth are to improve.
