Former StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC appointed Portuguese Sergio Moniz Traguil as their new manager.
The news was confirmed on Monday, June 12, when club CEO, Anisha Muhoozi released a statement announcing the appointment of the 42-year-old Portuguese tactician on a two-year deal.
Muhoozi said Traquil’s appointment takes effect on July 1, 2023.
Traguil replaces Jackson Mayanja, who was named interim manager in April when former coach Morley Byekwaso resigned.
Under Mayanja, KCCA narrowly lost the league title to Vipers on goal difference.
Traguil holds a Uefa ‘A’ license and is pursuing a Uefa Pro license. He has previously coached clubs in Botswana, Ghana, Tanzania, Angola, Mozambique and Oman.
