FUFA SUPER EIGHT: BUL Dump Vipers; Villa Advance, KCCA Face Giants

Samuel Sekamatte converted a second-half penalty as BUL FC dumped Vipers SC, the StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, out of the FUFA Super Eight tournament on Thursday, August 10.

This was the first competitive game for newly-appointed Vipers’ Brazilian coach Leonardo Neiva, who will now kick off the league next month under immense pressure.

Meanwhile, SC Villa defeated Maroons FC 2-1 in the other quarterfinal game played on Thursday at the Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Denis Ojara and Hakim Mutebi scored the goals for SC Villa, who advanced to the semifinals.

Action continues on Friday, August 11 with Wakiso Giants hosting KCCA FC while URA FC entertain Bright Stars in the other quarterfinal pairings.

The winner of the pre-season final warm up tournament will walk away with Shs 20 million while the runners-up get Shs 12 million.
