In an electrifying clash at Kavumba Ground on Wednesday, NEC FC delivered a stunning performance, ousting Police FC with a decisive 2-0 victory in the first quarterfinal of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup. Strikers Cromwell Rwothomio and Gaddafi Wahab emerged as the match’s heroes, each netting a goal to secure NEC’s unprecedented journey to the semifinals. This victory is particularly remarkable given Police FC’s formidable track record as last season’s runners-up.

The Cup fever is set to continue this Saturday, April 13, with an anticipated showdown between two former champions. BUL FC, the 2022 Cup victors, will face off against KCCA FC, a powerhouse with eight trophies under their belt, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. This match promises to be a riveting battle between the two titans of the tournament.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement, Pajule Lions and Pakwach Youngsters, both hailing from the FUFA Big League, are gearing up for their quarterfinal face-off in Pader. This all-Big League clash is sure to be a fierce contest for a coveted semifinal spot.

The quarterfinal action will reach its climax on Sunday when defending champions Vipers SC take on Kitara FC in Masindi. With the Cup on the line, Vipers are set to defend their title against an ambitious Kitara squad, ensuring a thrilling end to a weekend packed with top-tier football action.
