Alionzi of NUP Wins Makerere University Guild Presidency

Mr Alionzi Lawrence aka Dangote has been declared winner of Makerere University guild race after beating seven other contestants, including NRM’s Hussein Ibra

Alionzi garnered 5,839 votes in the online voting exercise that ended with him being declared the winner on Wednesday night while his closest contender Ibra Hussein got 2,079 votes. earlier article

The Makerere Guild race was suspended by the University Council after a bloody violent campaign that even resulted in the death of a student. The voting and campaigns were moved online for fear of more violent acts from students.

Several NUP members congratulated Alilonzi upon his landslide victory including the leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) who congratulated him on Twitter.

Our own comrade Alionzi Lawrence aka Dangote, all the way from Arua (West-Nile) was decisively elected 88th Guild President of Makerere University. Thank you Gallant Makerereans for rejecting the regime’s blackmail and trusting this brother. Congratulations
