Vipers SC were at the receiving end of a ruthless Raja Casablanca side as the Morocco giants thrashed the Ugandan champions 5-0 on Friday (February 10) night.
Goals scored inside 72 minutes by Hamza Khabba, Jamal Harkass, Mohamed Zrida, Yousri Bouzok and Roger Aholou sunk Vipers in the one-sided CAF Champions League match in Casablanca.
Vipers, playing for the first time in the money-spinning group stage of the CAF Champions League, were clueless about what hit them in the game where they had no shot at Raja’s goal in the entire 90 minutes.
It is a disastrous start to job for newly-recruited coach Bianchi Beto, who has less than ten days to prepare for the next group game against Tanzania’s Simba SC.
The Venoms, as Vipers are fondly nicknamed by their fans, host Simba on February 18 at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
