The StarTimes Uganda Premier league champions unveiled Leo Neiva as their new manager on Thursday, July 20.

Neiva replaces Alex Isabirye, who resigned recently after winning the first-ever domestic league and Uganda Cup double for Vipers.

Speaking after the unveiling function, Neiva promised that he will instill the Brazilian style of play at the Kitende-based champions.

“I am very excited to be here and look forward to working with the exciting group of players and to develop a team and culture that our amazing fans can be proud of,” Neiva said after conducting his first training session at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

The 45-year-old becomes the third Brazilian to coach Vipers after compatriots Roberto Oliviera and Beto Bianchi.

He comes in with huge coaching experience after a decade of handling different clubs and national teams in the Caribbean, South America, Africa and Asia.

Vipers’ fans will particularly recall the fact that Neiva led Tanzania’s Yanga to the Tanzania league and cup double in the 2014.

The upcoming season promises fireworks with foreign managers taking charge at Vipers, KCCA FC and SC Villa.

Recently, Vipers’ main title challengers KCCA FC and SC Villa appointed European coaches. KCCA hired Portuguese Sergio Traquil while SC Villa appointed Serbian Dusan Stojanovic as their managers

Beyond Kyankwanzi Lies Uganda’s Next Public Service Revolution

    By Kalikumutima DeoJune 19, 20260

Uganda has spent decades developing policies and reform strategies, but citizens judge government differently—by whether services are delivered efficiently and fairly. A new commentary argues that the country’s next phase of transformation must focus on faster service delivery, accountability, meritocracy and a citizen-first culture if public trust and economic growth are to improve.
