Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale and SC Villa coach Magera Kaddu were voted the best player and coach respectively in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for March.

Tamale picked up the Pilsner Player of the Month award while Magera took home the Pilsner Coach of the Month accolade on April 6 during a function held at KatiKati Restaurant in Kampala.

The Maroons’ custodian was rewarded for his solid performance in goal where he ensured the Luzira-based side won three games, drew twice and lost twice in their recent league matches.

While Magera’s master tactics from the coaching bench guided SC Villa to a five-match winning run and eventually to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

SC Villa have had an impressive form in recent weeks as they ascended to the top of the 15-team league table with 40 points from 20 games.

The Jogoos toppled KCCA FC after last Saturday (April 1)’s 1-0 victory over Busoga United. KCCA FC are now second with 37 points from 18 games. Villa’s next game against Wakiso Giants is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
